Last month we asked you what kind of democracy you would like to live in and announced the All-Island Better Democracy Network.

On 21 March, we’ll officially launch the All-Island Better Democracy Network at an event called Democracy Lounge. It will be an ‘Open Space’ — a chance to pitch ideas and chat to other campaigners, activists, reformers, researchers, and dreamers about the changes we can make possible if we work together.

If you haven’t already signed up for the in-person launch, get your free ticket here.

We can help with expenses if you’re travelling to the event; up to £50/ €58. This will be in the form of reimbursement for out-of-pocket travel expenses. If you want your expenses covered, please let us know in advance (as our budget is limited) and we’ll confirm with you before you travel. We’ll then ask you to complete a form and upload a receipt. 

Call out for news

Ahead of our in-person event, our first monthly newsletter will be going out on 6 March.

It will include a roundup of news, opportunities and offers and requests from our network members.

Please use this submission form to let us know about anything you would like to share by mid-day (12pm), 5 March. 

Offers and Needs Marketplace

Our goal for the All-Island Better Democracy Network is to create a collaborative space where we unite to support one another, fostering a vibrant community. That’s precisely why we view the Offers and Needs Marketplace as an exciting opportunity for the network.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept: an Offers and Needs Marketplace is the chance to share needs and skills to others who can help or who need help. We’ve started a list here for you to begin filling out what you need or what you can offer to the community.

We are hoping to review this during our first network meeting in late April/early May.
